Some Twitter Thoughts:
Lilybop :P@---
Not only did A and S experience a
great love and learn about themselves in the process, they changed
hearts and minds all over the world.
( No "I love you" or "my love" troubled me. More like A was gathering support for Sauli than a love note.)-
@lilybop2010 I am very upset about this. Trying not to be but it isn't working. -
@winniecm I'm still stunned. But when they both find a love that doesn't require as many sacrifices, we'll see this as a good thing. -
@lilybop2010 I think I'm too stunned to be rationale. But thank you for trying. <3 -

@lilybop2010 I was invested from the beginning with that picture of the two of them at Disneyland. It was so romantic. I fell too.

just how is giving (!?) coffee and bagle a sign of true friendship..lol amidst all numbness this is just lol
-
@kaakosa I'm sure Adam was anxious in that interview, so I cut him some slack re the coffee and bagel. Now if he'd juiced a green drink... -
@lilybop2010 i agree, and i love him. He tried to say something nice but not too sweet. -
@kaakosa Season 2 of S's TV show will probably be shot in Finland. It's been his dream, and would be too much to sacrifice for A. -
@lilybop2010 maybe yes.season1 needs to do well 1st.2 young men eager to succede.

I can wax philosophical, but this is an
#OOFTA day, for sure. -

@winniecm U know I thought they'd last forever, wouldn't let anything screw it up, but I'm a romantic realist. A and S are keeping it real.

@kaakosa Yes, both are focused on fulfilling their own dreams, which unfortunately means they would be apart too often.

@saulikoskinen1 You have made many sacrifices, and now is a good time to focus on yourself. You'll find true love again, this I know! -
@adamlambert You may be grieving for what might have been, but who knows what's around the corner for you. Keep it real and you'll be fine. -

S mentioned family, friends many times when interviewed in Finland. Sacrifices he made, w/ A often being away, may have been too much strain
-
@lilybop2010 I think this too. You love someone both "because of" and "in spite of". "Because of" must always be stronger.
-
@lilybop2010 Yes - both have new and exciting projects to work on. (We'll get over it too, eventually). :P

No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. If the split will make them both happier in the long run, so be it.

Adam Lambert and Sauli Koskinen Call It Quits
Due to popular demand, and until we get the website up, here's the text of our exclusive interview with Adam Lambert.
Adam Lambert and Boyfriend Sauli Koskinen Split
By Jason Parsley
Glam rocker and American Idol Season 8 runner up Adam Lambert announced in an interview with SFGN that he and his boyfriend Sauli Koskinen have split up.
“It’s been kind of on its way out in the last couple of months,” Lambert told SFGN.
Koskinen is a Finnish entertainment reporter, television host and radio personality. He rose to fame after winning his country’s version of Big Brother in 2007.
Lambert emphasized though the two are close and will continue to remain friends.
“Sauli and I remain really good friends, and I know it’s a cliché thing to say. But it’s totally true,” he said. “I just gave him a coffee and bagel earlier today. He’s a great person and we’ve had an amazing couple of years together. Things have just run their course.”
...Lambert attributed the break up to their hectic schedules.
“I’ve been getting really busy and traveling a lot and and he’s been getting really busy because he has a show he’s filming for Finnish television,” he said. “So we just decided to part ways.”

The only thing that worried me was the lack of "I love you, Sauli" in Adam's birthday tweet to Sauli:
The bagel stands for the Vortex (Torus), and the coffee is Awakening. "Happy Ishtar" - this is about love put on a pedestal. But it still hurts, because they were the real thing. No-one else had tied Nirvana to a real person in my lifetime, and I know many say that is a falsehood, that we can reach a consciousness state or whatever by denying ourselves attachments blabla, to me those people are just overly ambitious and lying to themselves. Adam is not "single" now, he is a full Priest - that is why his ships fail, it's his destiny. But it's still a mistake to let his man go. Love with a community is very valid but I had always hoped he would be allowed his personal life too. What he will do, by the looks of it, is replace it with world domination, and the partners will just be a side dish. They could have had it all. God this can't be true... I've never put Adam on a pedestal, I know he's human and makes mistakes, and that he has a life to live, and the same goes for Sauli - I still love them both but this is beyond sad. They had something which was equal to a marriage and now it seems "there's no time for us". I knew it when I was in Helsinki that it would happen, the clues were everywhere. Still you gotta wonder about the wits of that Man or Woman Upstairs... (off to cry my face off).
ReplyDeleteI gotta wonder what happens to all their tattoos which share a meaning.
ReplyDeleteLilybop, if it's not too painful right now, can I ask for a small favour? Can you make an animated gif with the part where Adam talks in a video about an intellectual and spiritual connection? This is before Sauli, when asked how he would feel about a partner who is a trainspotter, whether it would put him off.
What do you think - should they have kept it private so that people hadn't got so invested in it? I can imagine the fandom right now (I've only seen a few things but they were all about believing or disbelieving in Love). I can't help but think of all the "happily ever after" mentions. I don't regret the emotional investment I made but while in Helsinki my first instinct was to walk away from fandom itself (in general). I believed I could achieve something by playing the role of a fangirl but it has to end sometime. I really should learn to listen to my instincts. I'm beyond sorry that my fannish behaviour resonated in such a negative way. If I could give one message it would be that I don't want or need that role to be played by Adam or anyone, and that just because one doesn't feel ecstatic for a while, doesn't mean the Magic is ended. Or the Love.
