Adam Lambert lands top GLAAD honour
Singer ADAM LAMBERT will be the toast of the upcoming Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards after landing a top honour.
The star has been unveiled as the recipient of this year's (13) Davidson/Valentini Award, which is presented to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media professional who promotes equality for the LGBT community.
A spokesperson for the organisation states, "Adam Lambert's continued success as one of the world's best-selling pop stars shows LGBT people that they can be themselves and make it in a mainstream industry that many feel unfairly rejects them."
Lambert follows in the footsteps of past honourees including comedienne Sandra Bernhard, actor B.D. Wong, and Precious director Lee Daniels, and will receive the prize during the ceremony in San Francisco, California on 11 May (13).
