'American Idol' Finale: Adam Lambert, Jennifer Hudson Approached to Perform

Producers are looking to the Fox show's star alumni for season 12's May 16 closer, sources tell THR.

"The American Idol  season 12 finale is shaping up to be an all-star alumni extravaganza, as Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, a finalist from season three, and season eight runner-up Adam Lambert have both been approached to perform, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter . Neither has committed to the May 16 event yet.
As E! had previously reported , former Idol judge Jennifer Lopez will also appear on the show, an insider confirms to THR, but no word yet on another diva: Cher, whom season 12 finalist Lazaro Arbos is hoping will sing aduet with him."

This would be a smart move for Idol, especially if they're considering Adam for a new judge.  I'd rather see Adam as mentor on The Voice.  I wish they would just switch Adams.  I do think Adam Levine is doing a fine job,  but change is good. ;)
